How We Do It
Bright bar, round bar, forging or blank in the grade and condition on your drawing, supplied by OneKaizen.
Machining
Parts machined to drawing, inspected against the drawing and delivered with the material certificate.
- Review the drawing: grade, condition, tolerances, finish and quantity.
- Supply the bar, forging or blank in the right grade and condition, heat treated first if the drawing asks for it.
- Machine at a partner shop matched to the part: turning, milling, drilling and threading.
- Inspect dimensions against the drawing and pack the parts with the material certificate.
Why Use Machining?
One supplier for the steel and the machining means one certificate trail from the mill to the finished part, and no gap between the bar you buy and the shop that machines it.
When Should You Choose It?
Ask for machined parts when you want finished or near-finished components rather than bar, or when you want one supplier for the steel and the machining. For bar that is ready for your own machines, order bright bars, peeled bars or ground bars instead.
Common Questions
Does OneKaizen machine parts?
Yes. OneKaizen machines parts to your drawing through partner machine shops. We supply the steel, manage the machining and inspect the parts before delivery.
Is the machining done in-house?
No. Machining is done at partner machine shops. OneKaizen processes bar, wire and coil in-house and uses partners for machining, so you still have one supplier for the steel and the part.
What machining operations are available?
Turning, milling, drilling and threading, matched to the part. Send us the drawing and we confirm the route.
What do I need to send for a machining quote?
The drawing with grade, condition, tolerances and surface finish, the quantity, and any heat treatment or inspection requirements.
Can you heat treat before or after machining?
Yes. Bars can be supplied annealed, normalised or quenched and tempered before machining, and we can arrange heat treatment after machining where the drawing needs it.
What certificates come with machined parts?
The material certificate for the steel, traced to the heat number, and a dimensional inspection report against the drawing on request.
