All forging and forge heat treatment runs through our partner forges. We source, specify, inspect and deliver, and cut to length where needed.

Heat treat

Forged Bars Questions
What is a forged bar?
A forged bar is shaped by pressing or hammering hot steel in an open die. It has a finer grain and a sounder core than a rolled bar of the same size.
What sizes of forged bars do you supply?
Round bars from Ø 250 to 1,030 mm and square bars from 280 to 800 mm, in lengths of 2–10 m.
When should I choose forged bar over rolled bar?
Choose forged bar above about Ø 350 mm, where rolled bar stops, or where you need a sound core and better toughness.
Which grades do you supply as forged bar?
EN8, EN9, EN19, EN24, EN36, 20MnCr5 and EN31, plus tool and stainless grades. Search the catalogue for more.
Is EN24 available as a forged bar?
Yes. EN24 is supplied forged and normalised or quenched and tempered, for heavy shafts and gears.
Do forged bars come with ultrasonic test reports?
Yes. UT to your standard is available, along with the mill test certificate.
Do you deliver forged bars across India?
Yes. OneKaizen delivers to plants across India, including Pune, Chennai, Vadodara and Delhi NCR, and exports to buyers abroad.
Can I order forged bars rough machined?
