Aluminium Questions
What is the difference between 6061 and 6082 aluminium?
Both are heat-treatable Al-Mg-Si alloys. 6082 has higher strength and is the common structural grade in Europe, while 6061 is the common grade for machining and general fabrication in the US and India.
What is 7075 aluminium used for?
7075 is a high-strength zinc alloy used in aerospace, defence and high-load tooling. It machines well but is not suited to welding.
What does the T6 or T651 temper mean?
T6 is solution heat treated and artificially aged. T651 is T6 with stress relief by stretching, which gives plate that stays flatter when machined.
What sizes of aluminium do you supply?
Round bar from Ø 6 to 300 mm and sheet and plate from 0.5 to 100 mm thick. We also cut to length.
Which aluminium alloy is best for machining?
6061-T6 is the usual choice. 2011 is the free-machining alloy for high-volume turned parts, and 7075 suits parts that need more strength.
Which aluminium alloy is best for marine use?
5083 and 5052 resist seawater and weld well, so they are the standard marine plate grades.
Do you deliver aluminium across India and export?
Yes. OneKaizen delivers to plants across India and exports to buyers abroad with packing and documents to match.
Do aluminium orders come with certificates?
Yes. Every lot ships with a material certificate showing chemistry and temper.
Sizes, alloys and tolerances above are our standard range. Other sizes and alloys are available on request. Final values are confirmed against the order standard and supplier certificate.
