15-5 PH Stainless Steel Questions
What is 15-5 PH stainless steel?
15-5 PH is a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel, UNS S15500. It combines high strength, good toughness and good corrosion resistance after ageing.
What is the difference between 15-5 PH and 17-4 PH?
15-5 PH has a cleaner structure with little delta ferrite, so it has better toughness across the grain and in thick sections. 17-4 PH is more widely stocked and costs less.
What are the equivalents of 15-5 PH?
15-5 PH is UNS S15500, EN 1.4545 and XM-12. State which designation your specification calls for when you order.
What forms and sizes are available?
OneKaizen supplies bar, plate and forgings to order. Sizes depend on the mill, so send us the form and size and we confirm before we quote.
Which conditions can you supply?
We supply the condition on your order, such as Condition A, H900, H1025 or H1150. The ageing temperature sets the strength and toughness.
Do you supply certificates?
Yes. Every lot ships with a mill test certificate showing chemistry and mechanical tests, traced to the heat number.
What is the minimum order?
The minimum order depends on grade and size. We confirm it on enquiry.
