Alloy & Stainless Steel Scrap Questions

Which stainless steel scrap grades do you supply?

OneKaizen supplies SS 304 and SS 316, segregated by grade. We also supply identified alloy steel and carbon steel scrap.

How do you identify the scrap grade?

OneKaizen checks each lot by sight and magnet, and runs spectro analysis on request to confirm the chemistry.

What is the difference between SS 304 and SS 316 scrap?

SS 316 contains about 2% molybdenum and 10 to 14% nickel, so it is worth more than SS 304. We keep the two apart because mixing them lowers the value of the lot.

What forms of scrap do you supply?

Turnings, solids and bundles, loose or baled. Tell us the form your furnace takes.

Do you supply a test report with scrap?

Yes, when you ask for it. We provide a spectro test report with the grade and chemistry for the lot.

What documents come with a scrap shipment?

OneKaizen provides weight, grade and a packing list. Export lots carry the documents your destination requires.

Do you export alloy and stainless steel scrap?

Yes. OneKaizen ships export lots to partner melters, packed and documented for the destination.

What should I send for a scrap quote?

Send the material, grade, form, quantity, test and documentation needs, and destination.

Grades, forms and contamination limits are agreed in the purchase terms for each lot. Spectro testing and export documents are provided on request.
