Shafts Questions

Can you make shafts from my drawing?

Yes. Send the drawing, grade and quantity and we quote to it. Our partner machine shops turn the shaft and we inspect it before dispatch.

What sizes of shafts do you supply?

Diameters from Ø 25 to 500 mm and lengths from 300 to 6,000 mm. Rolled stock covers up to Ø 350 mm and forged stock up to Ø 500 mm.

Which grade is best for a shaft, EN8 or EN24?

EN8 suits moderately loaded shafts and is the cheaper option. EN24 gives higher strength and toughness for heavily loaded shafts, and it through-hardens at larger diameters.

Can you supply shafts case-hardened for gears and splines?

Yes. OneKaizen supplies shafts in 20MnCr5, 16MnCr5 and SAE 8620, ready for carburising. Tell us the case depth and surface hardness you need.

Do you machine shafts in-house?

No. OneKaizen machines through our partner machine shops. We cut to length and heat treat in-house, and our quality team inspects every shaft.

Can I order plain bar instead of a finished shaft?

Yes. OneKaizen supplies round and bright bars cut to length if you machine the shaft yourself. Tell us whether you need bar stock or a finished shaft.

Do shafts come with test certificates?

Yes. Every shaft ships with a mill certificate traceable to the heat number, with hardness and runout reports as specified.

Do you supply shafts across India and for export?

Yes. OneKaizen delivers to plants across India and exports to buyers abroad with export packing and documents.

Sizes, grades and tolerances above are our standard range. Other sizes and grades are available on request. Final values are confirmed against your drawing and the mill certificate.
