Hot Rolled Steel Questions
What is HR steel?
HR steel is flat steel rolled hot into coil or sheet. It has a scaled blue-grey surface and wider thickness tolerance than CR.
What thickness and width of HR coil do you supply?
Thickness from 2 to 16 mm and width from 900 to 2,900 mm, as coil or sheet.
Which HR grade should I buy for structural work?
IS 2062 E250 suits general fabrication and E350 suits higher loads. S355JR and ASTM A572 Gr 50 are the usual alternatives.
What is IS 1079 HR steel used for?
IS 1079 Grades D, DD and EDD are drawing-quality HR sheet for pressed and formed parts. EDD is the most formable.
HR or CR steel, which should I order?
Order HR when surface finish matters less and thickness is above 2 mm. Order CR for a smooth surface, tight thickness and deep forming.
Do you supply HR steel for springs?
Yes. OneKaizen supplies spring grades such as SAE 5160, 60SiCr7 and SAE 9260 in HR flat form.
Do you deliver HR coils across India?
Yes. OneKaizen delivers to plants across India, including Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi NCR, and exports to buyers abroad.
Can you slit HR coil to my width?
Yes. OneKaizen slits HR coil in-house to your strip width and holds burr and edge condition.
